In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Gore has voluntarily issued a safety recall on all of its Ride-On Low Friction System and Professional System brake cables designed for use on Campagnolo brake levers because the cables can detach, causing the brakes to fail and posing a fall hazard to riders.
To tell if you have these recalled cables, look at the Gore lettering codes written on the cable head inside the brake lever (the end of the cable that is held by the brake lever). If you see the letters "C," "CC," or "RO," (see photos) your cables have been recalled.
If you still have the box your cables came in (photo at bottom of page), you can also check it for the following UPC codes on the back. All are included in this recall.
If you have these brake cables on your bicycle, please stop riding it immediately and return it to us or your nearest authorized Gore retailer for a free replacement cable kit. Gore will reimburse consumers for the repair cost.
